Anyway, on to the news. Anyone else in their last year of sixth form / college will know how tense it is awaiting uni replies and offers. I had applied to three universities to do an art foundation year, my 'back up' choice gave me an offer which was great. I had also applied to Kingston and Central Saint Martins, thinking there's no way I'd get into CSM but I loved it there and it wouldn't hurt to try. I was sure I'd go to Kingston, it's where my friends, teachers and I all thought I'd go, but after a not-so-great interview I was rejected. I was really upset and more disappointed in myself, feeling I'd let myself down and that my artwork wasn't good enough.
What I really didn't expect was to receive an email from CSM saying I'd been accepted, I was with my friends at the time and we were screaming and laughing and celebrating! I honestly didn't believe I'd get in and accepted the offer straight away. I'm now so excited for my future, and it means I'll be living in London next year!
This leads me to the outfit; a few months ago I spotted some bloggers wearing this dress from AX Paris, and I really wanted to buy it because I loved the crazy pattern and bright colours, but I felt like I needed a reason to get it. I promised myself that if I got into CSM I'd get the dress too, as a treat. I picked out the red colour an teamed it up with a red cardi and a Crown & Glory headband. The necklace is from Delilah Dust, I also bought a silver and turquoise necklace at the same time. The skirt is pretty short but not too revealing for my shortness and the fabric is quite...strong? As in it's not floaty and unlikely to drift up in the wind.

Blogging may be a bit slow for the next few weeks, but I'll be finishing school for good soon and lucky for me my exams finish quite early, and then I'll be a free elf!
Enjoy the sunshine!
Fantastic news :) you must be so happy!
ReplyDeleteLove your dress by the way- its so pretty :)

Thanks, yeah I'll hopefully be wearing mine everyday in the summer :D x
DeleteThat is wonderful news, congratulations. I knew you would get into CSM. Loving your dress and accessories too. I have that delilah dust necklace too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, aww that's lovely of you :) I wear this necklace all the time! x
DeleteYou look so gorgeous oh my god! And well done for getting into uni! Is it a foundation course your doing at saint martins? or the full degree? I was left in the same position after applying to a uni and being rejected, unfortunately though im still trying to find a place. Thank you so much for your comment and following me! x
ReplyDeletehttp://www.heldtogetherbypins.blogspot.co.uk/
Hehe thank you so much! Yes I'm just doing a one year foundation course which will help me pick a degree course to do the next year which may or may not be at CSM. Aww no I hope you find a place, what are you hoping to study?
Deletexx
Ahh i wish I'd thought to do it that way! Im planning on taking a foundation now though before my degree as i didn't know all about it before applying oops! Fashion styling hopefully! xx
DeleteOoh fashion styling sounds really fun :) I wanted to go straight into a degree but had no idea what to do, also I though most degree courses expected a foundation anyway? Or a BTEC..?
DeleteYeah it's something i'd like to get into :-) Yeah see i never knew that they did (silly me) i thought that you could just get onto a full degree straight from A-level. So now im looking into foundation courses makes sense really, but uni's so scary i think i rushed the process!
DeleteI blame the college for not helping you out with that sort of stuff. Our careers department really don't care about us art students so we got most of our help from the art teachers. Any idea where you'll do the course? x
DeleteYep so do I I've had no help with appling really and still now they assume I'm sorted. Ahh yeah same for me I just recently got speaking to my photography teacher who's going to help me although I can't help but think its a bit late. I think birminghams my best option at the moment if I haven't missed the deadline. Just wish I'd know about your course sooner :-( sorry for going on haha x
DeleteWell good luck anyway, and I'm told foundation may be intense but it's also the most fun you'll ever have on a course :) xx
DeleteAhh thank you :-) yeah and I think it'll be a good introduction before the full degree xx
DeleteLove love love the flower crown! I really want one myself :)

Thank you, what no, never been told that! :P Haha! Good luck on your quest and I really can't wait to live in London!! :D x
DeleteCongratulations on getting into CSM! Also this dress looks lovely on you. I hope this question doesn't sound too rude but what size did you buy? I'm of a similar height and shape to you and really want to buy this but can't find it to try on in any New Look store! x
ReplyDeleteThank you! Not at all, I'm normally a size 10/12 so I was optimistic and went for a 10, it's a little tight round my waist but still wearable, and the zip is quite stiff even when the dress is off. I think the 12 would have been too big and not fit in the right places. Hope this helps, I'm always unsure when buying clothes online too xx
DeleteCongrats to you sweetie, well deserved <3 you look very cute.
